Times Union, The Living Resources After School Program is the embodiment of fun, excitement, and new experiences for students with developmental disabilities. We love doing projects, exploring new activities and going on community outings. Best of all, we have a great time doing it!! The After School program runs Monday - Friday, from 2:00pm-6:00pm. Students start each afternoon by helping prepare a snack of their choice, then sharing with their peers the fun things they did the night before or have planned for the coming weekend. After snack and share time, we start our fun activity of the day. Depending on the day, the kids may have: Music, Art, Swimming, Yoga, Movie Day, Bowling, Tae Kwon Do Lessons, Horseback Riding, or Tennis. We also join our local communities to explore fun places like the NYS Museum, Local Fire Houses, Corning Tower, Local Parks, Colonie Center, Crossgates Mall, Bow Tie Cinemas, Treepaad Fun Center, Flight Trampoline Park, and so much more! Currently we have six sites, located at Guilderland HS, Shaker HS, Draper Middle School, Colonie HS, Bethlehem HS, and Saratoga (without walls). We are excited to announce the opening of two new sites for the 2016-2017 school year, as we look forward to partnering with the Schenectady Jewish Community Center, and Shenendehowa HS. For more information regarding the After School Program, or our partnered Adventure Program, please contact our Program Manager, Sarah Meszler, at 518-218-0000 x 3340.
